I fondly remember the time when school administration allowed students to ice skate during lunch time. This was during the transitional rebuilding period at the Central Annex (the old BCC college building) in the winter of 1976. A few of us (Paul Dondi & Kevin Fitzgerald?) had gone ice skating during the lunch period in the middle of winter and had skated a little too long when suddenly the bell rang announcing lunch time was over. We hurried off the ice and arrived at our class (English with Mr. Paddock) still wearing our ice skates! The look on the Duke's face was priceless. He laughed while we waddled to our seats and then proceeded to take our skates off.

I remember being allowed to ice skate on that rink that year! I learned how to skate backward the first time I was out there by Darlene Tornicelli!
